Who are we leading?

An Overview of VPC

As a music volunteer, you serve as an ambassador of our church. You are one of the first faces that our visitors and members will see when they enter our building. In order to best lead our church family, you must know our church family. To do this, we ask for you to spend intentional time outside of music with our church family. This can take place during weekly meals, Circles, Prayer Gatherings, socials etc.

While most of our church is made up of 20-40 year olds, we are privileged to have younger and older generations in our congregation. Many of our members grew up in the Adventist faith, but not all –– we have many who are exploring faith, curious about Adventism, or returning to the church. In our congregation you will find a diversity of professions and ethnicities.

What unites us is greater than what defines us, and that is, Jesus, the Bible, and the Adventist movement.

VPC Mission

MISSION
To love Seattle by teaching and living the way of Jesus

VPC VALUES
To the skeptic on Capitol Hill, to the unsettled tech guru, to the questioning college student, we recognize that our mission must be expressed in fresh and captivating ways. VPC lives in the tension of the new and the ancient, the innovative and the traditional. While valuing innovation and excellence, we honor the ancient practices of the church. We believe learning from the past can ground us in becoming healthy apprentices of Jesus in the modern world.

EXPERIENCE GOD
We strive to Experience God in our weekly gatherings through powerful, truth-seeking, gospel-shaped corporate worship. Having been filled, we leave ready to be agents of God’s goodness in the week to come.

LOVE OTHERS
We take seriously Christ’s distillation of all holy scripture; namely, love of God and love of neighbor. Outside of the Saturday morning worship hour, it is imperative for VPC members to gather to Love Others.

SERVE OUR COMMUNITY
Service is the fruit of experiencing the goodness of God. Motivated by Christ who spent more time in service than He did in sermons, we seek to turn our words into actions as we Serve Our Community.
